At Bernardo Hills Dentistry, we believe early dental care sets the foundation for a lifetime of healthy smiles. Dr. Kevin Tan and our friendly team provide gentle, kid-friendly cleanings that keep young teeth clean, strong, and cavity-free. Each visit includes a thorough cleaning, a check for any early signs of dental issues, and helpful tips for building healthy habits at home. We make every appointment a positive experience, so kids leave smiling and parents feel confident.
We focus on creating a stress-free environment while gently removing plaque and tartar to prevent cavities.
Routine visits allow us to monitor your child’s dental development and catch any concerns before they become bigger issues.
We guide kids (and parents!) on brushing, flossing, and nutrition—helping them understand how to care for their teeth every day.
At Bernardo Hills Dentistry, families choose Dr. Kevin Tan not only for his experience, but for his caring and gentle approach with young patients. Known for creating a calm and positive atmosphere, Dr. Tan takes the time to communicate clearly with both kids and parents. His honest recommendations and dedication to comfort have earned the trust of families throughout Rancho Bernardo. From your child’s first dental visit to ongoing preventive care, you can feel confident knowing they’re in warm, capable hands.
Dr. Kevin Tan, a distinguished graduate from Loma Linda University School of Dentistry in 2014, brings passion and dedication to his practice. When he’s not helping patients achieve optimal oral health, Kevin embraces the discipline and resilience cultivated from his pursuit of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, where he currently holds a purple belt.
This multifaceted dentist also cherishes life outside his profession. As a devoted dog-dad to a French Bulldog and a Puggle, Kevin knows the importance of companionship. His family is growing too; he’s the proud father of a 20-month-old son, Greyson, and just welcomed his newest addition, Landon, in August.
During a routine exam, your child’s hygienist will gently clean their teeth and may take x-rays if needed. We often include a fluoride treatment to help strengthen their enamel. Dr. Kevin Tan will then perform a full exam to check for any signs of cavities or developmental concerns—and explain everything in a simple, reassuring way.
We typically recommend children visit the dentist every six months for a checkup and cleaning. However, if your child is more prone to cavities or other concerns, Dr. Tan may suggest more frequent visits to keep their smile on track.
